Where Sims Stands
Katherine’s got a proven track record of delivering results for our region and she’s running to continue the fight for rural values.
She supports policies that are good for our district. Katherine worked to:
Secure funding to bring high-speed broadband to the Kingdom
Reform Act 250 to make it cheaper and easier to build housing in rural Vermont
Champion tax cuts for families, seniors, and military retirees
Fix the education funding formula so that our rural schools got their fair share of the resources
Launch the Forest Future Strategic Roadmap to boost the forest economy
Make childcare more affordable and more accessible
Pass a bipartisan bill to stabilize our EMS system and support first responders
She opposes policies that harm our district, regardless of party affiliation.
She voted no on the property tax increase because Vermonters cannot afford to pay more
She voted no on the Renewable Energy Standard because it threatens to raise utility bills
She’ll oppose the Clean Heat Standard if it raises fuel costs
She ensures our rural perspectives are considered on every issue.
Katherine represents everyone in the district, regardless of party because she knows everybody’s voices matters
Katherine sees how the people in Montpelier ignore the needs and priorities of people in the Kingdom and she’s speaking up about it
As co-chair of the bipartisan Rural Caucus, Katherine ensures rural Vermont has a voice at the table
